Police are looking for a witness who might know something about an accidental shooting that left a 12-year-old injured in O'Fallon, Missouri, earlier this month.
On Nov. 9, a group of teenagers were inside a bedroom, passing the firearm around as each took turns looking at it, according to police. Police said the gun was accidentally discharged, striking the 12-year-old boy.
The boy was taken to a hospital for treatment. He has since been released and is expected to make a full recovery.
On Monday, the O'Fallon Police Department tweeted two images of a witness they are looking for in connection with the investigation. Police said he is one of six teenagers in the room at the time of the shooting, and he is the only one police have not talked to yet.
Anyone who recognizes the person in the photos is asked to call Detective Matt Myers at 636-379-5670 or by sending an email to email@example.com.
