R. Kelly Atlanta accusers to meet with Chicago prosecutors

It's all regarding a new video allegedly showing the embattled singer with an underage girl.

ATLANTA — Some of R. Kelly's accusers from the Atlanta area are headed to Chicago to meet with the Cook County District Attorney Friday morning, officials confirm.

It's all regarding a new video allegedly showing the embattled singer with an underage girl.

The video was obtained by lawyer Michael Avenatti, who is representing several clients connected to R. Kelly's alleged sexual assault of minors. Avenatti, who also represented adult film star Stormy Daniels's legal battles with President Trump, said the video is not the same one Kelly was tried an acquitted for in 2008.

The latest development could assist authorities in both Atlanta and Chicago. Although officials in Chicago confirmed they have been in touch with some of Kelly's accusers there, the Fulton Count District Attorney's office declined to comment on reports that they had re-opened an investigation into allegations of the singer running a sex cult from inside his Johns Creek home.

The development comes after a six-part docuseries aired on Lifetime last month that highlighted past relationships between the singer, whose real name is Robert Kelly, and underage girls.

Kelly has denied all allegations of sexual misconduct, and has never been charged with a crime.
