Six Flags Over Georgia says fireworks were cause of reports to Cobb Police of 'shots fired'

Authorities said there were no injuries after the incident Saturday night.

AUSTELL, Ga. — Cobb County Police said there were reports of "shots fired" at Six Flags Over Georgia Saturday night, but the amusement park later said fireworks were the cause for those calls.

Authorities said there were no injuries in the incident.

A statement from the park said: "At approximately 10 p.m. Saturday as the park was closing, police responded to reports of a loud noise coming from the parking lot. Police determined the noise came from fireworks."
