Clayton Co. Police find missing man they said suffers from mental illness

Police are looking for help from the public in locating a missing 44-year-old man they said suffers from paranoid schizophrenia.
Clayton County Police have issued a Mattie's Call for 44-year-old Ron Slaton. He has been missing since Friday, May 4.

UPDATE: Police said Ron Slaton has been found in good health.

JONESBORO, Ga. -- A Mattie's Call was issued Wednesday morning by the Clayton County Police Department for 44-year-old Ron Slaton. Police are asking for help from the public in finding him.

Police said Slaton was reported missing by family members. He was last seen on Friday, May 4, when he left his home in the 2300 block of Opal Drive in Jonesboro. Clayton County Police said Slaton has been known to leave home for several days at a time, but usually returns within three-to-four days.

Investigators said Slaton is a black male, 5-feet-7-inches tall and weighing 235 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair. They said he suffers from paranoid schizophrenia.

Police said Slaton does not have a cellphone or any other means of communicating with his family.
