Police searching for man reported performing lewd acts in Smyrna Library

Police took a report from a woman who said a man was performing lewd acts on the second level of the Smyrna Library.

SMYRNA, Ga. – Police are looking for a man who was reportedly seen performing lewd acts at the Smyrna library.

On Wednesday, police took a report from a woman who said a man was performing lewd acts on the second level of the Smyrna Library on Village Green Circle. She said he had a book in one hand and was performing the lewd act with the other, according to the incident report.

When he saw her, she said he stopped and walked away.

Security video captured the man’s face as he left the library. Police describe him as a thin 5’10” black man with a short afro-style haircut. He was wearing grey sweatpants and a grey t-shirt at the time.

He was last seen driving a late model green Subaru Forester, police said.

Police are investigating the event and are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man. Anyone who knows his whereabouts or who may have seen him is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477, the Smyrna Police Department at 770-434-6666 or dial 911.
