Police: Body found inside Atlanta home may have been there for days

The victim had multiple apparent bullet wounds and was already dead when police arrived.

ATLANTA — Authorities have found a body in a southwest Atlanta home riddled with bullet wounds. Now, they're trying to uncover exactly what happened.

The Atlanta Police Department was called to the 1500 block of Alder Lane SW around 4 p.m. to reports of a person down.  They soon learned that the victim, described for now only as an adult male with multiple gunshot wounds, had been there for about two to three days.

Officials said the victim's body was discovered by someone checking on the home while the owner was away.

Homicide investigators are now trying to find out more about the shooting that killed the man. They haven't yet publicly identified the victim.
