ATLANTA -- The reward offered in a case where a woman was gunned down during an attempted carjacking has increased.
Police said 35-year-old Lavonda Finklea was found dead in her vehicle around 10:30 p.m. on July 13.
Initially, a reward of up to $2,000 was being offered for information in the case. Now, that reward has increased to a payment of up $5,000.
Police believe Finklea was the victim of an attempted carjacking on Metropolitan Parkway. According to the incident report, Finklea was in the drive-thru area of a nearby Burger King when she was confronted.
The victim was shot in her car and authorities said her car hit a vehicle that was in the parking lot.
Police released surveillance video where three people are seen running away in the area.
Investigators now need help identifying the suspects. Anyone who can help officers with this investigation is asked to contact police.
