The DeKalb Board of Commissioners approved a partnership with Ring this week.
One of the home security company's most popular products are its doorbell cameras.
The partnership with DeKalb would allow officers to monitor security videos if residents voluntarily upload them to the neighbor portal.
A commissioner voiced concerns, however, saying it could cause people to be racially profiled before a crime even happens.
Ring, however, still has to approve the deal, which would include a clause that absolves the county if someone lodges a complaint about the video use.
