ATLANTA -- Police are investigating a shooting on Atlanta's west side that sent a 19-year-old man to the hospital.

Authorities say the shooting happened just after midnight and that the victim was shot in the groin area and taken to Atlanta Medical Center South for treatment.

They found several shell casings along Greenbriar Parkway not far from Greenbriar Mall. A MARTA bus stop was also significantly damaged.

However, the circumstances behind that shooting are still under investigation. Police have not released the identity or condition of the victim.
