EAST POINT, Ga. -- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating a fatal U.S. Marshals-involved shooting in East Point on Friday.

The incident unfolded at the Parkside at Camp Creek Apartment around 1:25 p.m. U.S. Marshals were serving felony arrest warrants for 26-year-old Jamarion Rashad Robinson when gunfire erupted.

One witness, who didn’t want to be named, said she heard Marshals tell the man to put his weapon down more than “10 times”.

“I saw someone run by the window and they had tactical gear on and I knew that it was time to move away,” she said.

The woman said she hid in her kitchen.

“Bullets -- they just go everywhere, so for my safety I moved away from the window,” she said.

Officials said Robinson shot at them, which triggered the gun battle. Robinson was struck.

Police say Robinson died from his wounds. An autopsy is scheduled with the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The GBI said its agents recovered a handgun and multiple spent rounds believed to be associated with Robinson.

Robinson was wanted for allegedly shooting at Atlanta Police last week, as well as arson charges in Gwinnett County.

None of the officers were hurt.

Once the GBI completes its investigation, it will turn the results over the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office.
