Trailers, movie equipment stolen from businesses | 1 in custody, 1 wanted

Officers released surveillance video Tuesday of the crime that shows trailers being removed by two pickup trucks.

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — The search is on for a suspect accused of stealing trailers - some filled with robotic camera cranes and other equipment used in movie productions.

Gwinnett County Police arrested 49-year-old Dewayne Antwain Williams, but they are still looking for a second suspect.

The alleged crimes happened between Jan. 11 and Jan. 14 from businesses along Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. Officers released surveillance video Tuesday of the crime that shows trailers being removed by two pickup trucks - one white and one dark in color.

In one of the incident reports, police went to Dynamic Remote Systems after the owner said three trailers were taken from the parking lot. Someone had cut the locks on the cargo trailers and stolen them.

Another incident report said a boom lift was taken from Fleetwash.

Police said they recovered the dark-colored truck and arrested Williams - but they still haven't found the second person or the other vehicle.

Officers also said the contents in the trailers have not been recovered. Among the still-missing items are a green boom lift, which was on a trailer, two robotic camera cranes, and a custom electric car used for mounting cameras and shooting film.
