ATLANTA -- Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle has received the endorsement of Educators First in his bid to become Georgia governor this fall.

Educators First, according to Cagle's campaign, is a bipartisan coalition of educators that focuses strictly on issues involving educators, principals, and students.

“We trust that Casey will continue to lead for the best interests of educators in every Georgia community,” said Elizabeth Rhodes. “Casey’s commitment to education has been apparent, and his ability to deliver on common-sense reforms that move the needle for our parents, students, and teachers will serve our state well.”

Cagle’s education platform includes enhancing local control over public schools, decreasing the amount of onerous paperwork that burdens already overworked educators, eliminating high-stakes standardized testing, improving third-grade reading levels, and declaring war on high school dropout rates.
