Here's why Vice President Mike Pence will be in Atlanta Friday

Pence will be one of several speakers at The Resurgent Gathering, a four-day event put on by Erick Erickson.

ATLANTA — Vice President Mike Pence is scheduled to be in Atlanta on Friday morning to speak at an event for conservatives. 

Pence will be one of several speakers at The Resurgent Gathering, a four-day annual event put on by conservative radio host and blogger Erick Erickson at the Grand Hyatt in Buckhead. 

Speakers representing Georgia during the event include Gov. Brian Kemp, Sen. David Perdue, Congressman Doug Collins, Congressman Jody Hice and former Congresswoman Karen Handel.

Others attending the event are Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), national Republican political insider Chuck Warren, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee and writer David Drucker of the Washington Examiner. 

According to a schedule posted on The Resurgent website, Pence will speak from 11:15 a.m. to 12 p.m.

According to information about the event, it "will bring together conservative activists from across the country with political leaders as we gather to consider the 2020 election and conservative policies."

Erickson launched the conservative website The Resurgent in 2016. He previously was a blogger on RedState and later served as the editor-in-chief in 2005. 

Erickson is a regular contributor of Fox News and is a appears on several radio shows.
