Freebies and resources for furloughed federal workers in Atlanta

As the government shutdown stretches on, businesses in metro Atlanta are stepping up to help federal workers impacted by the stoppage.

ATLANTA — As the government shutdown continues to drag on, both local and national companies are stepping up to offer free meals and services for federal workers hit hard by the work stoppage.

MOJO PIZZA

Mojo Pizza will be offering a free large cheese or pepperoni pizza to any  furloughed federal employees with valid federal ID while the government shutdown continues

"We are sorry this is happening to you. Come eat with us," employees said in an email to 11Alive.

COOKING WITH CAM

Local chef, Cameron Dangerfield is offering free meals to families being adversely affected by the government shutdown.

The local restaurant will be offering free meals for any furloughed government workers with proof of ID from now until the end of the shutdown.

TANGER OUTLETS

The Tanger Outlets in Locust Grove will be offering TANGERCARES HAPPY PERKS Free $20 gift cards to federal government employees impacted by the government shutdown.

AT&T

AT&T is ready to help customers affected by the government shutdown through flexible payment plans and other special options. 

As long as the shutdown is in effect, the company's customer service team will waive late fees, provide extensions, and coordinate with customers on revised payment schedules.

Consumers who pay their bill on att.com can get started here and DIRECTV customers can go here for instructions on how to take advantage of the flexible payment options. Business and FirstNet customers should direct inquiries to their AT&T billing contact, which can be located on the account statement.

LYFT ATLANTA TRANSPORTATION

The shuttle company (not affiliated with Lyft rideshare) is offering free shuttle service for all TSA agents from the College Park MARTA station to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

The shuttle will begin service at 2:30 a.m., and additional pickups will be added as needed. TSA agents will need to show airport IDs. Call 770-856-4374 for more information.
