"Big Jump" is a skydiving fundraiser on May 12 that raises money for Extra Special People's summer camp program.

Extra Special is an Athens-based nonprofit Extra Special People, Inc. is a non-profit organization that works to enhance the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

The Big Jump will begin at 10 a.m. with the first jump and runs until 6 p.m. It will take place at Skydive Monroe on Towler Street.

Registration is $25, then jumpers begin raising money with a minimum goal of $600.

Those who raise $1,000 or more will be included in the High Fliers Club.

ESP brings the food, fun and entertainment to create a festive environment for watching the jumpers make their descent.

In 2017, 45 skydivers helped raise $101,000 to send some extra special people to ESP summer camp.
