ATLANTA — Eleven days before a sold-out Atlanta concert, a rising Florida rapper has been sent to jail on two counts of first-degree murder.

Jamell Demons, known by his stage name YNW Melly, was arrested along with another man, Cortlen Henry, for the deaths of Anthony Williams and Christopher Thomas Jr. in Miramar, Florida.

Police said Demons allegedly shot and killed both men on Oct. 26, 2018 and Henry then staged the crime scene to resemble a drive-by shooting.

Melly was scheduled to perform at Centerstage on Feb. 24.
