EXCLUSIVE: Ex-UGA star Bellamy reads 'Mean Tweets,' in wake of Baker Mayfield flap

The charismatic and sweat-soaked Bellamy, now with the NFL's Houston Texans, happily read through colorful Twitter messages from Oklahoma Sooners fans.

ATLANTA—11Alive Sports' Wes Blankenship recently caught up with former UGA linebacker Davin Bellamy on a workout day, in preparation for his rookie campaign with the NFL's Houston Texans.

The charismatic and sweat-soaked Bellamy also obliged our request to read a series of Mean Tweets from opposing fans, namely Oklahoma Sooners followers who might have some lingering resentment about their Rose Bowl loss to Georgia (double overtime—College Football Playoff semifinals).

They also remain steadfastly protective of reigning Heisman Trophy winner and No. 1 overall draft pick Baker Mayfield, who was a subject of Bellamy's old Tweets.

Bellamy's senior campaign included two noteworthy highlights: He forced a crucial fumble in last September's road upset of Notre Dame; and then for the SEC Championship, Bellamy's strip-sack helped UGA avenge its November loss to Auburn.
