NFL Combine: Here's how UGA tailback Elijah Holyfield fared on Day 1

Four UGA underclassmen (Holyfield, Isaac Nauta, Mecole Hardman, Riley Ridley) will be participating in this week's Combine from Indy.

Former UGA tailback Elijah Holyfield got off to an uneven start at this year's NFL combine.

For Friday's bench press competition, Holyfield performed 26 reps of 225 pounds – the No. 3 total output among running backs.

However, for the 40-yard dash, which can be a make-or-break component for tailbacks in the draft, Holyfield posted times of 4.78 seconds (first try) and 4.81 seconds (2nd attempt).

For comparison sake, Oklahoma State's Justice Hill notched a tailback-best time of 4.40 before Holyfield's first attempt.

Holyfield (1,058 total yards, 7 TDs as a junior last season) can still find redemption during the combine drills later in the day, emphasizing his agility and pass-catching acumen.
