Former UGA tailback Elijah Holyfield got off to an uneven start at this year's NFL combine.
For Friday's bench press competition, Holyfield performed 26 reps of 225 pounds – the No. 3 total output among running backs.
However, for the 40-yard dash, which can be a make-or-break component for tailbacks in the draft, Holyfield posted times of 4.78 seconds (first try) and 4.81 seconds (2nd attempt).
For comparison sake, Oklahoma State's Justice Hill notched a tailback-best time of 4.40 before Holyfield's first attempt.
Holyfield (1,058 total yards, 7 TDs as a junior last season) can still find redemption during the combine drills later in the day, emphasizing his agility and pass-catching acumen.
