Born To Compete: Rome, Colquitt Country dominate #Team11 Power Rankings

By Alex Benson

Born To Compete

For the inaugural #Team11 Power Rankings, powered by Born To Compete, Rome stands alone at the top spot.

1. ROME

The Wolves' domination of Kell last weekend only confirmed what has been happening over the last 30 games: You better outplay Rome in a head-to-head matchup ... because the club doesn't beat itself.

The bigger the stage, the more points the Wolves seem to score.

2. COLQUITT COUNTY

The Packers are on a mission to destroy the highest classification in Georgia high school football. After last year's heartbreaking loss in the 7A championship, they're seemingly focused on scoring 40 points every time they touch the field in 2018.

3. GRAYSON

Grayson's by far the most talented team in the state, with five Prep All-Americans on the roster; and ironically enough, they have the most room for improvement, as their new quarterback J'kori Jones continues to get better.

If Jones continues to produce at a reasonably high level, the Grayson has a chance to win a state championship.

4. BLESSED TRINITY

Blessed Trinity apparently doesn't mind playing the role of spoiler.

Last year, Trinity pulled off one of the season's biggest upsets (taking down Cartersville) and the country's No. 1 prospect at the time, quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

This year, the Titans look like world-beaters, with no team maintaining a final point spread of less than three touchdowns.

5. MCEACHERN

Last weekend's McEachern-Cedar Grove clash taught us two things:

a) Cedar Grove's Jadon Haselwood is the real deal and can literally do whatever he wants to do on the field.

b) McEachern's loaded with weapons, and quarterback Carlos Del Rio, has a knack for getting 'em the ball during clutch situations.

Paris Brown, Javon Baker, Jordan Simmons and the crew can put on a show offensively. Over time, it's possible head coach Kyle Hockman will open up the offense even more.
