Early signing day is here.

For the first time, high school football athletes can sign their National Letter of Intent, binding them to a college program for at least one year and ending their recruitment.

While other sports have been able to participate in early signing, football players have been forced to wait until February. That date is still there as an option, but many of the top prospects will be announcing their commitments and signing their letters on Wednesday. The early period lasts from Dec. 20-22.

Georgia has 18 verbal commitments for the Class of 2018. Many of them will sign on Wednesday, and they may gain even more commitments from three, four and five star recruits. They could catapult from Rivals' No. 3 class to No. 1 depending on how it all goes.

There are also dozens of athletes across the state of Georgia signing to other programs. Check back for updates of Early Signing Day.
