Atlanta Braves' revenue hits new record

The Braves took in a record $422 million in 2018.

ATLANTA — The Atlanta Braves may be spending money cautiously on players so far in 2019, but it's not because they're broke.

Parent company Liberty Media reported Thursday that the Braves took in a record $442 million in revenue in 2018, their first full year in SunTrust Park, up 14.5 percent from $386 million for all of 2017.

Braves revenue is up $180 million in two years, nearly 69 percent, since their last season in Turner Field. The Braves played their first game at SunTrust on March 31, 2017, an exhibition against the New York Yankees.
