12-year-old killed in wrong-way crash

The wreck involved three vehicles. Five other people were injured.

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — A young teen was killed in a wrong-way crash Sunday morning in Henry County, police said.

It happened on Highway 19/41 just north of Circle Drive in Hampton.

Police said the crash involved three vehicles --two of which were going the right way. Authorities said a White Ford F-150 was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes and collided with a red Mitsubishi Galant and a black Chevy Surburban.

All three drivers as well as three passengers were taken to local hospitals. Police said 12-year-old Jacie Webb of Griffin, Georgia, who was sitting in the second row of the Suburban, died as a result of her injuries.

Henry County police said, "we cannot release specific details but this case is being investigated as possible DUI accident."  Authorities said the "at-fault driver of the pickup" is being treated at the hospital but has not been charged.

Friends of Webb's family have set up an event to raise funds to help the family. The Jacie Webb Memorial Tournament will be held on June 29. Click here for more information.
