2 DeKalb Co. School District employees taken to hospital after school bus crash

Here is what we know.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Law enforcement officers responded to a crash involving a school bus and a dump truck in DeKalb Tuesday.

Police were called to Lithonia Industrial Boulevard, just north of I-20 around 4 p.m. for the crash between the bus and a dump truck. Officers said no students were on the bus. 

According to the DeKalb County School District, two employees were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Below is the district's full statement: 

At approximately 4:00 p.m., a DeKalb County School Distrct school bus was involved in a major accident along Lithonia-Industrial Boulevard. Emergency and the district’s Transportation personnel were dispatched to the scene soon after it was reported.

No students were on the bus at the time of the collision, but two DCSD employees were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The health and safety of our employees remains a top priority at DeKalb County School District. District personnel will continue to monitor this situation closely.
