Hapeville police officer in crash on I-85

Traffic Unit Officer Brandon Hickman was hit on I-85 North, according to the police department.

HAPEVILLE, Ga. — The Hapeville Police Deparmtent is asking to keep one of their officers in your thoughts in prayers after he was involved in a crash Tuesday afternoon.

In a Facebook post, the department said "Traffic Unit Officer Brandon Hickman was hit on I-85" just after 12:40 p.m.

A photo shows damage to the police cruiser and another car that is flipped over. 

"Please pray for him and all the other drivers and passengers involved in this incident," the post reads.

They also mentioned that several agencies came to the scene. Good Samariatins also helped aid Hickman after the crash. 

"We send a special heartfelt thank you to our own Fire Department who took care of Brandon and all others on scene. And lastly, to Grady Memorial Trauma Center Thank you for your peerless response to all involved."

No other details about the crash were provided.
