Armed robbery suspects hit 2 Verizon Wireless stores before chase, crash on Connector: Police

ATLANTA — Traffic is snarled at a busy Midtown exit from the Downtown Connector after a police chase ended in a crash.

According to Atlanta Police, officers were responding to an armed robbery at a Verizon Wireless store near the intersection of Peachtree Street and Deering Road. 

Police said two men got away in a gray Audi, which police quickly spotted. Officers began to chase the car, but the pursuit ended shortly after near 14th Street and the entrance to I-75/85.

Officers arrested the two suspects - 22-year-old Davon J. Daniels, and another 14-year-old. 

Atlanta Police later linked the two and the same Audi to a second armed robbery that happened at another Verizon Wireless store off Piedmont Road, near Lindberg Plaza.

Police said the chase resulted in some damage to several vehicles, and one person had to be taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. One of the suspects was also transported with injuries.
