Wet roads, flooding causes headaches for drivers

Here's where drivers could encounter trouble on the road.

ATLANTA — Severe weather is making its way through metro Atlanta and north Georgia early Wednesday morning, bringing with it heavy rain and possibly damaging wind.

The conditions have led to multiple issues for drivers on the road.

9:15 a.m. | Lively Road is flooded in Milton and will be temporarily shut down until water levels have resided, police said.

9:05 a.m. | Crash on I-75 northbound near Moores Mill Road has two left lanes blocked. 

9 a.m. | I-285 continues to be problematic for drivers. We've got a live shot just north of Northlake Parkway. 

8:08 a.m. | Johnson Brady Road is closed at the creek due to flooding, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.

7:44 a.m. | Three vehicles are stuck due to flooding on the Georgia 400 northbound off ramp to I-285 west.

400NB Off Ramp to 285W, 3 vehicles stuck due to flood. Find alternate route and please slow down and drive safe.

7:08 a.m. | A tree is blocking Caldwell Road near Redding Road, according to Brookhaven Police.

6:45 a.m. | One lane is now open on I-85 in Lawrenceville. Crews are still working to clear the wrecked tractor trailer.

6:26 a.m. | Flooding has been reported on I-20 eastbound at MLK in Atlanta.

6:25 a.m. | Crews have now closed all lanes of I-85 in Lawrenceville as they continue to clear a tractor trailer crash. Per GDOT, there are no reports of injuries.

6:22 a.m. | The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office announced the following closures due to flooding.

  • Martin Road westbound is closed at GA 400 due to flooding 
  • Doc Sam’s Road at Canton Hwy is closed due to flooding. 
  • Settingdown Circle at Bottoms Road due to flooding 
  • Castleberry at Majors due to flooding
  • Settingdown Road between GA400 and the Hamptons due to flooding

6:03 a.m. | A tractor trailer has spun out and jack-knifed on I-85 in Lawrenceville, blocking all but the HOV lane.

6:01 a.m. | Bells Ferry Road near Wooten Road is currently shut down due to flooding, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.

5:50 a.m. | All lanes of I-285 at Northland Parkway are shut down in DeKalb County as crews work to clear flooding.

5:04 a.m. | Flooding has been reported on parts of I-285 in DeKalb County.
