COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A metro Atlanta mass transit system will soon be making stops on one more day of the week.

Cobb County government announced on Wednesday that for the first time in its 30-year-history, CobbLinc buses will soon be rolling on Sundays. Cobb Commissioners voted on the change at Tuesday's meeting after a study by an outside consulting group. The Sunday bus routes will begin on July 1.

The city is also adding a new Route 10X using managed lanes between Kennesaw State University's Kennesaw and Marietta campuses.

Cobb County also plans to modify some routes while eliminating others - routes 10A, 10B and 10C specifically - and institute a new ride-sharing agreement to help get residents to bus stops. This ride-sharing agreement is still in the works and will only start after they form a "request for proposal" to be approved by the board. They will be seeking up to two companies to work with them on this project.
