Powder Springs Road accident leaves one dead

No charges are expected for the survivor of the accident.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A 67-year-old man has died after an accident on a major road in Cobb County, Friday morning.

Cobb County Police said that the accident happened just before 11 a.m. on Powder Springs Road near Grove Valley Drive. Investigators said the accident happened when a Honda Odyssey partially entered the turn lane and struck an Isuzu box truck which was waiting to turn.

The driver of the Honda, later identified as Bro Grace Amen, of Marietta, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the box truck was taken to Wellstar-Kennestone Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and isn't expected to face any charges.

The Cobb County Police Department's Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating the crash.
