CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Traffic is flowing on I-285 westbound near Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport again, but that was not the case for several hours Saturday morning.
A four-car wreck blocked all lanes approaching Interstate 75 for more than three hours, leaving motorists heading for the airport in a lurch.
The Georgia Department of Transportation said that two people were hurt in the wreck, one critically, and that one of the people had been trapped in the wreckage.
All westbound lanes of travel were blocked as a police accident reconstruction team worked in the vicinity of the wreck.
Traffic was able to resume shortly after 10:30 a.m.
GDOT says that as of 11:15 a.m., some delays still exist for westbound motorists between I-675 and Jonesboro Road.
