ATHENS, Ga -- Thousands of Atlanta commuters who travel I-85 aren't the only ones who were happy when the newly rebuilt bridge was finished ahead of schedule.
C.W. Matthews, the contractor that took on the highly publicized project, donated $10,000 in bonuses to the building and development of Camp Hooray, a first-of-its-kind summer camp built specifically for children with special needs.
The camp was founded by Athens-based Extra Special People.
The funds are part of C.W. Matthews' financial incentives received from the Georgia DOT for completing the I-85 bridge that collapsed on March 30 in Atlanta.
The summer camp will serve kids of all abilities with no limitations and offer a chance for them to access everything from zip lines to skyline walks to campfires.
