Man, woman dead after motorcycle crashes into 18-wheeler

Police said the motorcycle burst into flames when the driver crashed into an 18-wheeler.

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — A man and a woman died late Monday night in a tragic motorcycle crash on 285 westbound at Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Sandy Springs Police said.

Police said a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle burst into flames when Marvin Roberson, 33, of Roswell, sped onto the Interstate around 10 p.m. from Ashford Dunwoody Road and crashed into the back of an Freightliner tractor trailer. Natalie Strauss, 26, of Sandy Springs was riding with Roberson in the passenger seat of the motorcycle.

Roberson was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Sandy Springs Sgt. Sam Worsham.

Strauss was thrown from the motorcycle during the crash and taken to a local hospital where she later died, Worsham said.

Sandy Springs Police believes speed was a factor in this fatal crash.

The truck driver, who stayed on the scene isn't facing any charges at this time, but Worsham said the case is still under investigation.
