ATLANTA — Several lanes and roads will be closed near the Fulton County Justice Center Complex next week, the Fulton County Sheriff's Office said. This area is not far from Underground Atlanta.
The closures will begin May 2 and could potentially last through the week. The sheriff's office said drivers will still be able to get to the Underground Atlanta parking decks from Martin Luther King Jr. Drive (MLK). However, the public, deputies said, is advised to avoid the area unless they have to conduct business in the vicinity.
Here is what you need to know if you are trying to access the area next week. Specific street closures include:
- Pryor Street between MLK and Mitchell Street
- Mitchell Street from Pryor Street to Central Avenue
- Central Avenue between Mitchell Street and MLK
- MLK: The the two lanes adjacent to the Fulton County Justice Center complex will be closed
Below is a map provided by officials regarding the closures.
The sheriff's office said the Fulton County Magistrate Court will be conducting first appearance hearings only on May 2. All other hearings will be rescheduled.
In addition, anyone who received a jury summons for that day should follow the instructions given in the summons. Residents seeking services from Fulton County Justice Agencies are encouraged to use online services wherever possible or visit satellite locations outside of the downtown area if in-person services are needed.
