LOVEJOY, Ga. — A man working on a road work crew was struck and killed Tuesday morning.
According to Georgia State Patrol, 28-year-old Justin Bagley of Roanoke, Alabama died from his injuries.
Troopers responded to the accident in Lovejoy at 3:50 a.m. on Tara Boulevard just south of McDonough Road.
Bagley was working with a crew that had two of the four northbound lanes shut down. The two left lanes were blocked by utility trucks with amber lights and a Clayton County Police Department patrol car with emergency blue lights on.
The GSP said a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was headed north in the third lane. As the driver passed by the emergency vehicles, troopers said he changed lanes and struck the worker who died at the scene.
Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
