SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — A UPS truck driver has been taken to an area hospital with serious injuries after authorities say the driver's truck was hit by a train.

South Fulton Police spokesperson Lt. Derrick Rogers said that police are investigating the crash, which happened on Roosevelt Highway near Roberts Road around 3:30 p.m.

Their preliminary findings suggest the UPS driver was attempting to cross the tracks when it was hit.

While it's unclear if the driver saw the train or not, 360-degree photos provided by Google suggest there weren't any significant visual obstructions at the intersection as recently as 2016. However, the same photos show no crossing arms at this particular intersection.

The crash investigation is still ongoing.
