FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -- Authorities confirm that one person is dead after exiting a car on I-85, Wednesday afternoon.
Officials said the call came in around 3:13 p.m. in the area of southbound I-85 and Buffington. The motorist, a black male, apparently pulled off the road but, when he got out, a second vehicle hit and killed him.
The accident has resulted in two right lanes being closed in the area of the crash as officers investigate and crews work to remove the wreckage.
Crews estimate having the southbound lanes cleared no sooner than 5:30 p.m.
