All lanes have reopened on Interstate 85 after an early morning wreck quickly snarled inbound traffic for motorists during the morning commute.
Although the lanes have been reopened, 11Alive's Crash Clark says the damage has been done, and delays that quickly mounted before 7 a.m. will persist and commuters should consider alternates to I-85 for Tuesday morning.
He says Buford Highway or Satellite Boulevard should be considered as solid alternates to I-85 for Tuesday morning's drive.
The Georgia Department of Transportation says the roadway was able to be fully reopened by 7:10 -- well ahead of its originally anticipated timeframe, but backups were expected to persist through the remainder of the morning commute.
