Severe thunderstorms rumble across metro Atlanta

Here's the latest.

ATLANTA — The hottest temperatures of the year so far are also bringing some scattered storms over metro Atlanta and north Georgia this afternoon. Some of storms are turning severe and triggering severe thunderstorm warnings. 

The 11Alive StormTrackers are monitoring the systems as they develop and will provide updates.

UPDATES:

7:12 p.m. - The severe thunderstorm warning is canceled.

6:31 p.m. - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Fayette, Lamar, Pike, Spalding and Upson counties until 7:15 p.m. 

5:52 p.m. - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Trop County until 6:15 p.m.

5:42 p.m. - The severe thunderstorm warning for Cobb and Fulton counties has expired.

5:33 p.m. - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Lamar and Upson counties until 6 p.m.

5:14 p.m. - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of Cobb and Fulton counties until 5:45 p.m.

5:04 p.m. - The severe thunderstorm warning for Clayton, Fayette and Fulton counties have been canceled.

4:46 p.m. - Another severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of Fulton and Gwinnett counties until 5:15 p.m.

4:41 p.m. - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of Clayton, Fayette and Fulton counties until 5:51 p.m. Winds of up to 60 mph and hail up to an inch are associated with this storm.

4:12 p.m. - The severe thunderstorm warning for Cherokee County has been expired.

3:45 p.m. - There are reports of several trees down on Meadow Brook Drive.

3:42 p.m. - There are reports to the National Weather Service of a tree down, blocking a lane of Park Creek Ridge.

3:40 p.m. - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of Cherokee County until 4:15 p.m. Hazards with the storm include 60 mph winds and hail of up to an inch.
