Another round of moderate to heavy rain will move through the area through Thursday morning. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect.
We have already picked up 1-3 inches of rain (some localized areas have seen up to 6 inches). Another 2-3 inches of rain is possible as this next wave moves through. Many rivers, creeks and streams are near flood stage. Any additional rain will add more water to those creeks and streams. Low lying and flood prone areas also need to watch for rising water with heavy rain and runoff.
The rain will taper off later on Thursday. As the rain moves out and the colder air moves in, we may see some brief mixing in far north Georgia. There is just a slight chance for some snow flurries late Thursday in the northeast Georgia mountains. They could see a light dusting at most. We don't expect any problems with these low snow chances.
We will clear out on Friday with highs in the 50s. The weekend looks great with mostly sunny skies. We have bumped up the temperatures to the 60s both Saturday and Sunday. We go back to the 50s Monday and Tuesday with a few more clouds mixing with the sun.
