Discussion:
After a warm, humid and dry midday, we'll track a few showers and storms that will develop and push into our area ahead of a cold front.
The coverage of today's rain will not be widespread, but anything that develops could be locally intense with heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds. We do have a Level 1 threat of severe weather for the north Georgia area.
Here's a snapshot of the forecast track early this evening, showing the more isolated nature of the coverage of showers and storms.
Outside the rain chance, temperatures will otherwise hit the low and mid 80s.
Over the weekend, we will start dry but finish very wet.
Saturday starts with some sunshine. Clouds increase throughout the day. A stray shower is possible be evening, but most stay dry. Highs reach the upper 70s to low 80s.
Sunday, the rain chance increases to 70% along with cooler temps struggling to get out of the 50s in the afternoon.
Sunday starts with early scattered showers. The rain becomes widespread by mid-morning and will carry through at least mid afternoon. Temps will be stuck in the 50s for the most part Sunday.
Cooler air sticks around on Monday with lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s under a mostly cloudy sky with a slight chance for rain.
We will go on a gradual warming trend starting Tuesday with lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s under a mostly sunny sky.
Expect a partly cloudy to mostly cloudy sky back on Wednesday and Thursday with lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s.
