A cold front will be approaching. Ahead of that front, we will have some showers and thunderstorms. The best chance is through the early evening. It is possible that a few thunderstorms could turn strong to severe. The Storm Prediction Center has a marginal risk for isolated severe thunderstorms in North and Central Georgia including the Atlanta Area. I even narrow that region down a little more to be in areas east and northeast of Atlanta through the early evening.
The main threats would be heavy rain, thunder, lightning and gusty winds. Things start to settle down tonight. We will dry out on Wednesday with a mix of sun and clouds. Drier air moves in. The humidity levels go down. It will feel more pleasant Wednesday and Thursday. Highs will still be in the mid 80s. Morning lows will dip into the 60s to give us a cooler feel in the air.
We will return to a 20% chance for showers on Saturday through Monday. Highs still in the mid to upper 80s. Tuesday, we will have a 30% chance for showers.
