It was a hot day across north Georgia as temperatures rose into the mid to upper 80s across much of the region with plenty of sunshine. For tonight, temperatures fall back to the 60s with cloud cover increasing accompanied by a few showers and storms.
Not everyone will get rain tonight, but know that some showers and storms could bring heavy downpours.
Some showers and storms could also be strong to severe with damaging wind being the main threat. The storm potential also isn't just for tonight. We will also have the chance for a few strong storms Friday afternoon.
First, for Friday morning, we may still have a few lingering showers from our overnight rain.
Expect a break in the rain late morning and into early in the afternoon on Friday, but then another round of storms moves in for the middle to late afternoon on Friday after temperatures reach the mid 80s for highs.
Saturday brings drier conditions to the region with lows in the lower 60s and highs in the lower 80s under a partly to mostly cloudy sky.
Rain chances return for Sunday with scattered showers under a mostly cloudy sky with lows in the 50s and highs in the mid 60s.
Cooler air sticks around on Monday with lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s under a mostly cloudy sky with a slight chance for rain.
We will go on a gradual warming trend starting Tuesday with lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s under a mostly sunny sky.
Expect a partly cloudy to mostly cloudy sky back on Wednesday and Thursday with lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s.
