Trick or treaters beware: It's going to be a wet Halloween

Be sure to grab your rain coats and umbrellas before you leave home.

Don't forget to grab your rain jackets on Halloween because it's going to be a wet one.

Morning Rush Meteorologist Chesley McNeil said Thursday will be quite soggy. The 11Alive weather team will be tracking a cold front that will probably move in during the afternoon. That front will have rain and the potential for some thunder and lightning.

Trick or treaters across the metro Atlanta area may want to dress up as an umbrella to shield themselves for the 50 percent chance of rain headed our way around 6 p.m. As of now, the rain is expected to last through 7 p.m.

The heaviest rain will move east of the area by 5 and 6 p.m., but there will be a few lingering showers around during trick or treating time. Winds will pick up behind the front and temps will drop.

Friday morning temps will start off around 40 degrees.  It will be breezy and cool Friday with clearing skies.  Temperatures move up to 60 in the afternoon.
