Power outages reported across Georgia as winter weather rolls through

Here's a look at some of the outage reports

As wintry weather rolls through the state, thousands of Georgia residents are without power.

Georgia Power customers across the state are reporting outages.

Around 6:30 a.m.,  a little more than 14,200 customers were reporting outages, according to the company's outage map.

The five counties with the highest outages are below:

  • Rabun: 3,861
  • Gwinnett, 1, 521
  • Fulton: 1,177
  • DeKalb: 1,086
  • Bartow: 1,053

Georgia EMC is also reporting outages. At 6:30 a.m., more than 5,972 customers in the Northeast region of the state reported outages.

More than 4,500 customers in the North and 1,400 in metro Atlanta were also the dark. Statewide, Georgia EMC's outage map showed 12.185 customers without power.
