ORIGINAL STORY:

All of northern Georgia is the under threat for severe weather Saturday with two possible rounds of damaging storms.

Round one

The first possible round starts overnight into Saturday morning as strong to severe storms capable of producing damaging wind gusts and hail move in from the northwest. There is still considerable uncertainty with this first round as storms as it may end up sliding further west into Alabama missing most of north Georgia completely.

Even if a complex of storms does move into northern Georgia it will weaken as it approaches the Atlanta metro.

Round two

The second possible round comes Saturday afternoon into the night.

Storms will likely develop in the late afternoon and evening, possibly on a small boundary/miniature front left over from morning storms. It's hard to say where this boundary would set up but storms that fire up on would turn into a line with damaging wind potential.

Other than storms on this boundary, scattered individual storms may develop and bring the threat for all modes of severe weather including a low tornado threat.

Overall with all rounds of possible storms damaging wind gusts and intense lightning are concerning.
