Winter isn't over yet: Cold weather expected to return to Georgia

Sub-freezing temperatures are expected next week.

The recent warm weather with temperatures in the 60s and 70s may have you thinking that winter ended early.

But, Mother Nature will send us a reminder that we have several weeks until spring begins.

The next few days will be warm and spring-like with highs in the 60s with showers. In fact, some very spring-like strong-to-severe storms may develop Sunday afternoon into Sunday ahead of this cold front.

We begin to feel the cold temperatures Monday morning with lows falling into the 30s but a strong northwest wind will make it feel even colder.

The potential for a hard freeze sets up during the mornings of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Don't plant any sensitive plants quite yet, March 23 is the average last freeze date in Atlanta.
