As temperatures are expected to drop overnight, the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for some counties in North Georgia.
Rabun, Dawson, Fannin, Gilmer, Lumpkin, Murrary, Pickens, Towns, Union, and White are all under the advisory.
It expires at noon on Saturday for Rabun County. The other nine counties are under the advisory until 10 a.m. Saturday.

3:13 PM | A winter weather advisory has been issued for Dawson, Fannin, Gilmer, Lumpkin, Murrary, Pickens, Towns, Union, and White until 10 AM Dec. 22. There could be periods of light snow. Temperatures will fall below freezing tonight leading to slick roads, especially over the higher passes and gaps through the mountains.
2:56 PM | A winter weather advisory has been issued for Rabun County. It's in effect until noon Saturday. Snow accumulations of up to one inch are possible, mainly at elevations above 2500 feet. Winds gusting could get as high as 40 mph. Areas of black ice are possible Saturday morning.
