Man wanted in Charlottesville assault arrested

Monroe County Sheriff Office said a man wanted for an assault in Charlottesville has been arrested.

Monroe County Sheriff Office said a man wanted for an assault in Charlottesville has been arrested.

An official with the sheriff's office said Alex Michael Ramos, 33, of Jackson, Ga., turned himself in on Monday. Details surrounding the arrest have not been released.

The arrest warrant was issued for malicious wounding in relation to an aggravated assault that happened on August 12 where Deandre Harris was beaten.

Ramos did have family in the Cobb County area as recent as two years ago, according to Marietta Police.

Ramos is in the Monroe County jail awaiting extradition to Virginia.
