DUNWOODY, Ga. — A major accident involving as many as 19 vehicles on I-285 has been cleared after snarling traffic on Sunday evening.
Dunwoody Police said the accident happened in the area of the North Peachtree Road exit; though, traffic backups stretched back all the way to Spaghetti Junction to the east for some time, blocking every westbound entrance east of Chamblee Dunwoody Road.
Motorists were urged to find other routes or expect a significant delay. However, Dunwoody Police reported around 8 p.m.
11Alive is working to gather more information about the accident. The Georgia State Patrol confirmed that state troopers assisted in handling the crash but that Dunwoody Police are handling the investigation.
