Roswell boots 11Alive chief investigator & cameras from City Hall

"GARBAGE REPORTING" That's what Roswell's city attorney David Davidson called our series of investigative reports right before we were escorted out of City Hall by an armed city marshal. The city attorney claims an awards ceremony at City Hall -- with two dozen civilians and four city council members speaking to the crowd -- is a PRIVATE event, closed to the press. We were the only ones kicked out, under the threat of arrest for trespassing at City Hall because we didn't have "an invitation", after our series of investigative reports on the police department. The police chief resigned last week, the deputy chief also retired, three officers were fired, and the supervisor of the year was demoted after we demanded internal records. We were at the awards event to document several officers getting medals for saving a man's life.
